The refurbishment project has created an elegant and practical setting in which to experience the monument in a modern and convenient atmosphere that combines today’s trends with historical Modernism. The contemporary project highlights the elegance of the historical building and focuses on the original monument to create a space in which to relax, observe, and listen to the positive aspects of the city’s downtown area and quality of life. The project is centered on creating six glass cubes with interior backlighting that house the business establishments on the ground floor. The lower level will be used for a restaurant, shopping area, and market area, and it will be visually connected with the ground floor through a hole created during the first phase of the work as the main element. It will be accessed via escalators, with a tree that emerges from the base supported on a waterfall as the backdrop.
